Sr. Account Executive:

Full-service Strategic Communications and Public Relations agency in Chicago seeking experienced communications professional to fill senior account executive position. Our agency supports makers of change who are doing something that will better their communities or even the world at large. Clients are primarily non-profit organizations and innovative tech companies. We need someone whose work life and social conscience frequently intersect—someone who wants to do well while doing good. Candidates should have an interest in social and public policy issues and working with diverse clients relating to education, child welfare, sustainable food, the environment, and the arts.

We are particularly seeking someone with versatile verbal and written communications skills and the talent to tell stories across various digital media formats and social media platforms. Position is full-time, salary commensurate with experience; with option of occasionally working from home. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team to develop creative integrated marketing, PR and social media campaigns for clients
  • Develop and manage project work plans and budgets, updating management and clients on progress of projects, managing staff and working with management to ensure proper billing
  • Write press releases, media advisories, marketing materials, web copy, newsletters, blog posts, social media posts and other client materials.
  • Manage media relations for specific clients, creatively exploring opportunities for client stories
  • Gather results and analyze impacts using multiple ASA tools
  • Develop creative social media posts aligned with client strategies, building community and engagement for clients on (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, YouTube, Vine, Instagram and Reddit, and create eblasts in Constant Contact)
  • Collaborate in developing video treatments and assist producers in making client videos
  • Entrepreneurial approach to client service, recognize opportunities to expand or grow the business to fulfill client needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 4 year Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or business
  • Minimum 3 years in PR/Communications field, preferably with an agency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter, detail oriented, excellent organizational, management and leadership skills
  • Competent and comfortable with many kinds of writing, savvy SEO and digital marketing skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, deadlines and clients in a fast paced work environment, and ability to consistently meet deadlines with high quality work.
  • Media skills include social media proficient and traditional media relations, with excellent strategic and analytic skills, and familiarity with PR tools for list building and analysis
  • Tech-savvy and able to post and edit in basic HTML
  • Software: Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite required. WordPress, QuickBooks a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial personality, with keen interest in business and personal development
  • Experience working cross culturally and with non profit organizations
  • Flexibility, a positive attitude and a sense of humor all certainly help!
